ARTICLE: HOW TO VIEW THE FUTURE IN
ONE MINUTE OR LESS
by Debra Lynne Katz

THESE ARE "PSYCHIC SPEED READING" EXERCISES FOR ALL AGES
All you will need is a stack of paper nearby (not lined!), a good pen and your own mind.
The idea here is you are looking for situations that will change quickly AND that will give you instant feedback.
Until you have done each of these 100 times, don’t form a negative opinion about your ability!
These are all designed to get you to get quick and instant information and verification. Just be aware that while it’s great to practice these exercises, they are part of a larger practice that involves a lot more time. Using your abilities to find a missing item or person, describing the location of a nuclear device or the device itself could requires hours if not days of describing to the point enough information is gained to help whomever needs the information. If you are serious about developing your abilities it helps to do these “down and dirty” exercises as well as more in depth viewings/readings.
The exercises I’m including here are all ones you can do by yourself, except maybe the yard sailing one, it helps if someone else is driving while you are doing your viewings.
These are perfect for kids and adults and can be done as a family exercise or by yourself (I tend to recommend that children NOT learn to read people before the age of 18), but these exercises are safe and might actually serve as an interesting alternative to their video games for a minute or two.
CHILDREN'S TEXT BOOK or PHOTO BOOK.
Choose a book with a lot of pages and and take note of the total page count so you are aware of it.
Set a timer for 1 or 2 minutes max. On your paper, right down a random page number. Close your eyes, wait for an image or words to come into your mind. As soon as you start getting something, draw it. Write down any thoughts you have. (if you don’t record it, it doesn’t count!). Then when you are done, take a look at that page and compare. On your paper, put a star next to the aspects that were correct.
PREDICTING THE NEXT CHANGE IN A TV SHOW.
I discovered this exercise one night during a marathon run of old Western movies that invaded my bedroom. My significant other was completely into yet another John Wayne film and I thought I was going to go crazy from boredom if I was subjected to one more second of it. Since I was feeling too lazy too get out of bed, I decided just to entertain myself to see if I could predict what was about to happen in the next 20 seconds. It worked! So after repeated attempts, here is what works best:
Watch a movie that you haven’t seen before and know nothing about. One that involves a topic you wouldn’t normally be interested in can help. One with lots of action is good. Decide that you are most definitely going to successfully see what is about to appear on the screen. Decide on a time frame of when you are going to see it i.e. like within 20 seconds, or the next minute). Have no expectations. (You might see a man with a beard, you might see a flag, you might see a door being pushed open and 3 men coming in, all which will reveal themselves if you are on target. It may just be a color or the positioning of how two people are standing that shows up). Then close your eyes and see what image comes to mind. It will just be a flash, or you might hear something. Draw what you see and write down at least one word for it, then watch. Repeat this until you have a success. After the allotted time has passed or you’ve gotten your “feedback” by seeing or not seeing what you wrote down, make a note of where you were correct on your paper and how close to the time frame you were correct. Sometimes I’m off on my time, but it may be because the next noticeable change in the scene came later. For example, if there are two people talking at the point you start to view what’s going to happen in the next 20 seconds, and nothing changes in that time, what you saw was probably about the next scene or shot that might not come for 40 seconds. You don’t want to do view too far out in the future with this exercise because then there may be too many chances that what you saw would come up anyway, so keep it within a 40 second time frame.
YARD SAILING or HOUSE HUNTING
We recently moved out to the Mojave desert in California, where there isn’t a whole lot to do on weekends except go to yard sales. With all the foreclosures out here, people are selling everything from their ATV’s, to their underware to the garage doors freshly ripped from their soon to be abandoned homes. It’s a lot like the wild west out here. One day I decided I would quickly peak while we were driving to see something about the next yard sale we came to. I saw an image of what appeared to be a rocking horse. This told me there would be a large horse there that was not real. Sure enough, the next house we pulled into had a large wooden life sized horse on the front lawn!
Alternate: House or apartment shopping - if you are shopping for a home and know you will be visiting several homes that day, you can do the same as above.
So here are some suggestions for Yard Sailing:
Have someone else drive. They don’t need to know what you are doing but it’s fun if they can participate. Allow yourself just a minute or two as you are on your way. It’s best if you don’t know where you will stop next. Jot down your impressions. Then when you get there look around, and wait till you leave before making your final assessment of what you got. If you’d like to task yourself with something specific to look at some possibilities include:
Most interesting thing at the next location
What the owner of the place looks like
An item you will end up buying or considering
YOUR OWN FUTURE THE NEXT DAY
This is a good activity to do in bed before you fall asleep as you may get an immediate impression while awake or may dream your answer during sleep. I started to do this on evenings when I’m having trouble sleeping. Have paper and pen and a light source near by to take notes and sketch what you see and thoughts and words that come. Ask yourself to see something noticeable and memorable about the upcoming day for you. If you fall asleep before you get an answer, or regardless, when you wake up write down any dreams you had. If you can’t recall any, write down how your dream made you feel. Dream recall involves placing attention on your dreams. So if you haven’t been remembering your dreams lately, write down even one word about your dream the next morning, even if you think you are making it up, do this for a week and you will be amazed at what happens.
VIEW PAGE OF THE NEWSPAPER
As with the above exercise, you can view the front page of the paper while awake, and also task yourself while you are asleep. For sleeping questions, I like to write the question or task on a paper and put it under my pillow. I did this when my Siberian Husky, Artemis, went missing. When I woke up, I didn’t recall any dreams, but my disappointment turned to astonishment when my 12 year old son came running into my room telling me he dreamed that someone had stolen her for money but then we finally found her. This is exactly what happened. We got her back 3 months later. So things can get pretty crazy with this stuff, others in your house hold might start to dream the information for you. This tends to happen if you are too emotionally invested or too exhausted for dream recall.
For awake or asleep viewing you will need to decide before hand:
What newspaper are you going to use?
What date of the paper will you use?
View front page or another page, which one?
Where on the page are you going to view?
Are you going to view a photo, the story content, the title and where on page will you find it.
Make sure that you get a copy of the paper when it comes out and review your session.
Research and my own experiences have shown that what happens at feedback time will often have an impact on the session itself.
Most importantly, have fun!

WHAT IF WE ALL COULD READ MINDS?
IS IT TRUE THAT “THE TRUTH WILL SET US FREE”? OR WOULD IT LEAD US TO THE RAPID DESTRUCTION OF MANKIND?
WE KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE DO HAVE THIS ABILITY ON A LIMITED BASIS, and that many more can learn it with enough training and practice, but an entire society………?
This article is the first of several related to the topic of trends and the future of psychic development and the potential evolution of the human race.
Most of us at one time have momentarily considered what it might be like if humans were able to read each other's minds. I say momentarily because the thoughts following, "What if...?" are usually followed by, "Yikes, that would be soooo embarrassing…what if my boss or my wife knew what I really thought of them or what I was really up to?!”. Even worse then others hearing our thoughts, is the idea of us hearing theirs. The ridicule, judgments, envy, and what they really think and feel about us would be unbearable. Usually at this point, most people dismiss the idea fully, convinced that not only would this not be possible, but it would totally suck.
I have meandered through the same line of reasoning many a time when considering and quickly ruling out such a seeming outlandish idea. However, recently, I allowed my self to wander a few steps further in my imagining of what this might be like. If you can move past your own discomfort, I’d love for you to accompany me into the land of what ifs and what might be.
IN THE BEGINNING
I don’t know if ALL OUT CHAOS is the best place to begin a journey, but I have no doubt that at first, that is precisely where the world and its all knowing occupants would be. There would be high highs and the lowest of lows. Many relationships would indeed fall apart while others would tremendously improve (as often happens when partners who have been afraid to speak honestly about their feelings finally do so). The unedited truth erupting from unexamined minds would emotionally devastate millions of sensitive souls. Some would never recover. The murder and suicide rates across the planet would skyrocket. Emotions would flare and wars of all sizes would erupt amongst tribes and nations, although war efforts on both sides would be thwarted with the obliteration of concepts such as “classified”, “secret” and “covert”.
What other repercussions or advantages would there be? Jobs for those who hated them would be lost or transformed. Some people would go to jail while others would be freed. War efforts would be foiled, politicians would be impeached. Much of the guessing, the figuring out, the evaluating, would vanish: every citizen who ever wondered whether or not they could trust a person running for office, or applying for a job or asking them on a date or for their hand in marriage would have a lot more information to work with then they currently do. Those seeking work or a relationship or any opportunity who were diligent and devoted people with the purest of intentions and whom had been previously overlooked might now be chosen above their less ethical but perhaps more polished counterparts.
So then, what of those people who didn’t have the best intentions? What of those who were judgmental, with angry thoughts or even criminal intentions? On the one hand, many crimes would be stopped before they even happened, at least crimes that were premeditated. Of course as a society there would be a whole new set of standards and laws put in place. Surely the potential of having a “thought” police who regulated what people were allowed to think about, and even prosecuted those merely contemplating breaking the law could happen. This of course could be disastrous for us as a people and something that would need to be worked out early on. On the other hand, those with murderous or dangerous thoughts who didn’t learn how to curve these would be eliminated from our society. At risk children would be identified and helped early on in life, rather then is so often the case today, where the extent of their learning disabilities, or inner turmoil goes unrecognized until it’s too late to help intervene, or when their thoughts turn to destructive behavior.
Imagine what it would be like to hear and properly respond to the thoughts of children too young too speak, to those who are unable to speak due to disabilities, and ever to those in coma’s. It’s likely that if we could all hear the thoughts of other people, we would have an easier time hearing the thoughts of our guides or loved ones who have passed on as well. I personally know parents of disabled children who passed on and then in spirit form communicated through mediums or to their parents directly what they weren’t able to say when they were alive. This is incredibly healing to everyone involved. The parents often wonder what it might have been like if they had the ability to communicate like this when the child was alive. If they could read minds, consulting with a psychic when ever they wanted to communicate with their own child would not necessary.
This begs the question of how would we sort out all of the chatter and avoid information/communication overload. Hopefully, just like is the case for psychics and those who currently have awareness of their telepathic abilities, people in general would be able to or learn how to focus their attention so they get to choose who they are listening to at any given time. Of course there would be those occasional loud mouths turned loud minds that would need to turn their own volume down or face pissing a lot of people off.
LOVE UNBOUNDED
If every thought revealed were of a judgmental, critical, pain evoking nature, it is likely that this would lead to the destruction of human kind in no time at all. However, what would counteract this would be the unmasking of thoughts reflecting the deepest love and respect that we harebrained humans often are most fearful of expressing. The extent and depth of the loving thoughts would not just surprise, but bring people to their knees in shock and in gratitude and many would have to work through the depths of grief for having lived so long without every realizing it was there. Not only would we hear the loving words and accompanying feelings from those who know us best, but from complete strangers. Have you ever contemplated how many strangers out there desperately want the best for you and would risk their own lives to save you? I know that’s hard to believe, but what if you really observed this for yourself?
Furthermore, with telepathy unbounded, those cheerful masks hiding our deepest longings and needs would shatter, leaving us open books for others to read and respond to. Loved ones and strangers alike would hear us when we wonder, “Wow, does anyone really care?” or when we realized “I need a hug”, “I need some help”, “I need for someone, anyone to just to acknowledge I exist right now”. Simple needs, that we so often keep to ourselves because we don’t want to be a burden would be met. We would also get to experience the truism that when we give someone else a chance to help us, we are giving them the opportunity to feel tremendous joy and purpose.
HUMAN EVOLUTION
Despite the initial turmoil, I believe what would eventually happen would be nothing less then the biggest advances in human evolution since the invention of the wheel, fire or even chocolate. Millions of people would be instantly motivated and eventually successful in learning how to control their thoughts and behaviors - or their behaviors then their thoughts (psychologists have debated since the inception of psychology what comes first and are still out to lunch on the subject). Like those of us who have somehow already stumbled upon the rollercoaster path of self awareness: who have consciously worked with the concept of releasing judgments, speaking from our hearts, aligning ourselves with those we enjoy and parting ways with those who aren’t healthy for us, the rest of society would be forced to follow suit. They would learn how control their emotions, which isn’t about masking or shutting down any of them, but rather learn how to have distance from these so we don’t get swallowed up in them. Millions of people who previously never really paid much attention to what they were thinking, would join us in the act of self assessment, walking side by side on the path, turned highway, of self actualization. Over time, it would be those who could accomplish the above who would have the greatest chance of surviving and excelling. Again, I’m not talking here about those who learned how to mask their thoughts, but rather those who learned how to genuinely love and appreciate their fellow man despite all perceived weaknesses and flaws that they currently are so quick to judge. (Yes I know, my idealism is showing).
Speaking of masking thoughts: When I presented this scenario to my brilliant and slightly more cynical sister in law a while back (She is one of the main editors on the hit TV teen show, “Gossip Girl” – there has to be some irony in there somewhere), she pointed out that as soon as people realized their thoughts could be read, they would surely stop at nothing to develop the technology that would block this. She felt that they would be successful, and those who had access to their technology would become the rulers of those who did not. She did have a point, but so far there are many things we haven’t been able to invent, so perhaps this wouldn’t be in the cards.
THE MISSING LINK
While to many, this entire scenario is highly implausible; it’s one I’m holding out for. I am quite certain that until human beings can be much more, if not completely honest AND psychically aware, there will be little hope of freeing ourselves from what authors David Icke, and Alex Jones are referring to as “the Prison Planet”.
Alice Bailey, a late 19th century aristocrat turned fanatical Christian turned mystic and psychic teacher turned prolific author wrote that she believed the most important factor in human evolution would be people’s realization that their thoughts and emotions create their physical reality. Half a century before the bestselling film/book “The Secret” was released, she was teaching her students about how thoughts and emotions are energies that can be channeled into producing divine creations, instant manifestations and a fulfilling life. Conversely, she demonstrated how those who did not have control of their thoughts were like owners of stampeding wild animals, left unattended as they trample and devastate entire civilizations. She felt this awareness would motivate people to learn how to control their thinking which in turn would help them to manifest positive life experiences. She believed that once a certain amount of people understand the dynamics of creation and their own power in this, the scales would tip, mass consciousness would soar and utopia would only then become a reality.
IS MINDREADING BY THE MASSES POSSIBLE?
As a psychic teacher, working with numerous students 5 days a week, I can tell you that everyone already has this ability to some extent. It’s just our logical minds and our unconscious minds are in cahoots with those of most everyone else’s and are hell bent on convincing us that we aren’t really hearing or aware of what we suspect we may be hearing or seeing or feeling or knowing. I’m not saying that even the best psychics today can read every thought of every person. I’m extremely telepathic and yet what I’m hearing from people when I do my best to tune in is probably less then one percent of what they utter or think on a daily basis. (With the exception of certain men who probably only have a few thoughts a day, for those silent but strong types, my percentage goes way up). But what my students and I do hear are their innermost and truest longings. We hear their voices that say, “I can’t stand to be in this relationship or job a moment longer”, those that say, “I will do anything I have to help my loved ones” or those that say, “I will do what ever I want and no one can stop me”. Of course sometimes we hear less meaningful statements such as “This psychic stuff is bullshit” or “I don’t want to interrupt her but I really have to pee” or “I wonder if I hadn’t brought my wife along if she would have agreed to go out with me”. The point here is that there are many people already spontaneously reading minds, hearing the thoughts of others, feeling others pain and emotions and being impacted by their energy without realizing it. One of these people may be you!
WHAT QUALITY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOR A PSYCHIC?
Also, as a psychic teacher, it’s become quite clear that those students who are the most talented, those who do the best in their training and ensuing practice, are those who are willing to face the truth on every level. I discuss this in great detail in my three books, “YOU ARE PSYCHCI”, “EXTRAORDINARY PSYCHIC” AND “FREEING THE GENIE WITHIN”. I also give specific techniques so just about everyone can learn how to do this.
THE PARADOX
As a society, the path of honesty is obviously not one that many of our most seemingly “successful” people have taken. In fact, some of those who have earned the highest positions in government, amassed the most power and wealth, have been some of the most devious and untruthful among us. This fact makes it hard to convince others at this point in time that my plan for human transformation from deceit to absolutely honesty is one not only worthy of consideration, but of implantation.
Still that won’t stop me from doing my part in giving as many people as possible the tools necessary to hear the innermost, authentic votives whispering or screaming from the depths of their own selves and others.
Despite our overall resistance and fear of the truth, it does seem like we are being catapulted towards it. With our most recent financial collapse of the world markets, new technologies that allow us to travel anywhere in a day or communicate with anyone just about anywhere instantaneously, and with the assistance of pioneering teachers and authors who are helping people deprogram themselves from the lies and veils imparted upon them by society, I do believe that we are much closer to the truth and the healing that accompanies it then any of us even realize.
So for the BIG question. Are YOU ready to face the truth? I know it’s a scary proposition. Even for me. Sure, I have made the commitment to do what I can to be more honest with my thoughts and emotions. But am I personally ready to be completely 100 percent lay my undies out on the line for all the world to see honest? Am I ready to let my friend know that yes, her butt does look enormous in those uncomfortable jeans she overpaid for and is much too old, I mean, ELDERLY to wear? Am, I ready to let my partner know that when he tells me I mismatched his socks or failed to make the bed properly that I want to tear every bit of his remaining hair out of his head – like all ten strands?!?!?!? Wow. That felt good. Yes. Maybe I am.
How about you?

HOW TO RAISE A PSYCHIC CHILD
by Debra Lynne Katz
1. Honesty is the best Policy. Your child will know when you are lying on a subconscious level and this will create confusion for them and lead them to doubt their own inner voice as adults. This sets them up for future low self esteem and relationship problems.
2. Do not unload your adult problems onto your child. Psychic children are also healers. They are usually wiser then their years. This makes it tempting to confide in them about issues they don’t have the emotional capacity to deal with.
3. Make sure your child has plenty of alone time. Psychic children pick up the emotions of others around them. They need extra time and space to separate from others. They need to not have every second of their time scheduled with social activities.
4. Notice if your child’s tantrums or sour mood corresponds with your own. Children (and adults!) channel the emotions and pain of those closest to them. It doesn’t matter whether these emotions are openly expressed by the parent. This is what makes your child psychic! Try visualizing a separation object in between the two of you. See yourself connected into the earth with a heavy cord, and your child connected in with a different colored one.
5. Be very careful about who your child is exposed to. Adults who are alcoholics, drug addicts or have sexual addictions or mental illnesses often have negative entities attached to them that a psychic child can sense and even fall prey to.
6. Don’t discount their psychic impressions. If your child says she’s just seen a ghost, or has a feeling someone is going to have an accident, or tells you something about yourself that is embarrassing, do not deny this or tell them it’s their imagination. Instead ask them how they arrived at that conclusion and show interest in what they are saying. You don’t need to do anything more.
7. Guide your child to use his imagination to fight his monsters. When your child has a bad dream, or is fearful about something he has just seen, lead him/her in a quick meditation where he has superpowers that help him to defeat the monster. For example, if he dreams a monster chased him down the street, have him go back into the dream and imagine that he turns on the monster and chases him instead, perhaps with a large sword, wearing a superhero costume. Then let your child decide the final outcome.
8. Don’t encourage your child to read other people. If your child is spontaneously getting psychic impressions, encourage her to communicate these to you before sharing them with others so you can decide together the best course of action. Children will often project their fears or ideas onto their intuitive information and therefore it’s best for them to not become professional psychics until they have reached a certain level of emotional maturity.
9. Remember: Our imaginations are never just imaginations! Our imaginations are vehicles to both view psychic information (i.e. a ghost or knowledge about someone’s fate) and manipulate it for healing (i.e., getting rid of the ghost, performing an energy healing).
10. Don’t forget to have fun together! You and your child can play psychic games. Try to read each others minds or take turns hiding an object in a box at a remote location and see who is more psychic!

SOUL SURFING: SOUL PURPOSE VS. SOUL IMPULSE
Question for the New Year - What is your life impulse?
By Debra Lynne Katz, Author
“You are so lucky!” a friend recently exclaimed after I finished telling her about how excited I was about learning so much through my clairvoyant readings and the work I’ve been doing with my students. “You know your soul purpose! But I have no idea what mine is!”.
I asked her why she was so sure I knew what my soul purpose was.
“Well obviously it’s your psychic work, and writing about it. It’s all going so well for you, so how could this not be your purpose?”
Hmmm, it made sense, but something doesn’t feel right about her comment. In fact, it irritated the hell out of me. It made me feel jumpy, claustrophobic, suppressed, trapped. Why? Hell if I knew.
“OK”, I said to myself, driving home from our lunch. “Where in my body is this irritation with that comment?” My attention immediately went to my heart center. “OK, Heart”, tell me, why on earth would you be irritated when someone tell you your soul purpose is your psychic work? I mean, how could it not be? Even apart from my paid appointments, I spend hours a day remote viewing, speaking to my guides, meditating, praying, visualizing, reading, talking and writing about this psychic stuff. I hardly sleep because of it. The only vacation I ever take is to trainings and conferences. For all intents and purposes, I am happy, enthusiastic and outright obsessed. So why would I be irritated being told this was my soul purpose?”
And boom, the answer was there: It irritated me because I was being told this was my SOLE purpose. My only purpose. I was being squeezed into a narrow definition, shackled to a picture of myself that was so much smaller and so much more limited then who I was. Yes, I am a psychic. Yes I do psychic work. Yes I feel like I am on my path. But I am so much more then this. I have so many other interests as well, some that I’m currently pursuing and identified with (like being a mom ) others I play around with here and there (as a filmmaker and screenwriter) and others that I haven’t even explored or am even aware of yet but that I very much look forward to discovering. (I’m convinced I am going to become a successful actress starting when I am 85. I have no interest in doing this now). I realized I’ve been working hard to get out of other narrow definitions of myself, and this is what my psychic and healing and meditation work has helped me to do.
What have these definitions been? Well most were ones that others put onto me, and some of them I wholeheartedly I bought into. Those belonging to the latter category were first and foremost, being an identical twin. Until the age of 19 or so, this was my identity, who I was, what made me important, special, unique, and what I did best. My sister, Amy, and I did everything together, we looked exactly alike, we couldn’t go anywhere without causing a scene. And now we shared a dorm room together in college, a tiny room, about 12 feet long and 8 feet wide.
By the end of Spring semester of that year, I was so sick of her as she was of me, and I was feeling so stifled, crowded, hedged in (hmmm, there are those feelings again), I would wander around campus for hours in the cold, desperately searching for some place I could be warm and comfortable, but by myself. One chilly afternoon, I was thrilled to find a vacant classroom unlocked, and I went inside, closed the door, and sat there by myself for a long time under a blackboard covered in mathematical calculations I could not decipher, feeling more then just miserable. It wasn’t about sharing a tiny space with my sister, it was sharing my entire identity with her. Something deep inside was telling me I needed to be on my own, but my head was filled with thoughts that said, “but then who will you be? The only thing that makes you interesting, special, important, is being an identical twin! Without that you are just about the most boring person in the world!” Then suddenly I asked myself a question I had never been willing to consider. “Well what if she died?” What would happen to me then? The answer came immediately with a feeling of despair, “I would not be able to live with out her”.
It was at that moment that I knew I needed to make a change. I knew something was wrong with my thinking. I knew there was a lie in there somewhere, probably several, and that my very life was dependent on getting to a place where I would say, “You know what?, if she died I would be sad, but I would could be OK”. I knew that finding myself, apart from this relationship was going to be the most important thing I ever did in my life. Up to that point I thought the most important thing was figuring out where to move, or what to major in (something I never really figured out because what I really wanted to learn was not taught in college). Ironically, around this time I visited a psychic for the first time at a local fair. She wasn’t able to answer either of these questions, but she did tell me someday I would be doing the same thing she did. I walked away certain she was a fraud!
Later in life I would create and recreate myself several times over. I went through quite a few years believing my soul purpose was wrapped up with what ever I was currently immersed in, the roles I played, and what I perceived to be the thing that made me special in my own eyes and of course others. My ego, my bank account, and my passion were all involved. A lot of effort, emotions, trails and tribulations went into pursuing, achieving and eventually letting go of my attachment to these. When I was a Federal Probation Officer, that seemed to be my soul purpose. When I was a brand new mom that was my soul purpose. When I was in the Philippines studying healing with the faith healers, that was my purpose, when I was in film school that was my soul purpose, when I published my first book, I had found my soul purpose as a write. In all of these moments, I clung to this concept, this notion, this picture that I was doing my soul purpose because these thought forms made me feel safe. Essentially I grounded through these pictures. The thing was, when it was time to move on to something else either because I had changed, or because what had been working so well dried up and along with it the money and the joy, or a brand new, unexpected life experience popped up (or out as in the case of my son!), I had to go through a rocky, turbulent, uneasy period that felt like riding a rollercoaster with nothing more to hang onto to then my fingernails. It was a lot harder to let go of these things then to begin them because each time I passed to a new stage I had to readjust my self identity.
SOUL/SOLE PURPOSE IS A MYTH
After doing clairvoyant readings on hundreds of people, I’ve come to the conclusion that the concept of “having a single soul purpose” is a misnomer. Certainly there are many experiences and lessons our souls want to have. Information about these experiences and how to have them and deal with them are what often comes up during a clairvoyant reading, But when someone says, “What is my soul purpose” What am I meant to do”, these questions will yield about as much information as the question, “What should I do”?. Most of my students will attest to this as well. Unfortunately, most beginning students don’t understand that the lack of information coming to them about these questions does not have to do with their ability, as much has to do with the question itself. When it comes to psychic work, there is such a thing as a bad question! Instead the more helpful question is, what is it that will bring joy to this person? .
But even here lies one further problem that is related to the soul purpose problem. Most people think that all they need to know is that one thing to do that will bring them joy. Now for many people, there is something, many things they will enjoy doing. But the fact is, if someone comes for a reading who is already doing things in their life they enjoy, and they ask about their soul purpose, they aren’t going to need to know what it is they enjoy or what they don’t enjoy or what they might enjoy in the future, as much as they need to understand how they can give themselves permission to spend time doing what they enjoy, and also how to earn a living doing what they enjoy, or at least survive while also getting to enjoy whatever they enjoy.
Furthermore, Some of what they enjoy may not be an activity or a thing, but experiencing themselves in a particular way. So often this is where people get stuck. They have the notion that as a psychic. I just be able to just tell them what job to apply for, and it should be the perfect job that will give them the money they need to meet their other goals. They expect me to just say, “Hey look in this newspaper 3 days from now, apply for this exact job with this particular company and all your dreams will come true”. Now that’s not to say I don’t ever get a response like this or that I don’t quite often get information about the company they ultimately will be working for, or that they are currently considering. I actually do. But what frequently happens is I get information about what they must change in order to complete the gap between where that person is now, and a more fulfilling point in the future.
This is important because quite often, even when I accurately describe the future, it doesn’t make sense to them at the time I tell them about it. That’s why I am coming to the conclusion that viewing the present is far more helpful then viewing the future, although both can be accessed fairly easily. It’s in the present that a person’s limited or narrow perspective is causing distress, and if my answer doesn’t fit into this faulty way of thinking, they have trouble initially understanding me. That’s why I am OK if what I say about the future doesn’t make sense. Why should it?! They are not there yet psychologically. Oftentimes, it is the reading that will help pull out that which is unconscious into the consciousness. That’s why as trained clairvoyants, we can often achieve what it might take a psychoanalyst or therapist months if not years to uncover. Still, there is only so much new awareness a person can handle at any given time, so much of what we tell someone will not immediately be comprehended. It may take an hour, a day or a week or a lot longer to integrate it and of course information about the future may not make any sense until it comes to pass. That’s why as readers of my books will recall, as psychics we can’t get to wrapped up in whether or not our clients understand everything we say the moment we say it. What we can do to best serve the client is to help them understand the gap between where they are now and where they long to be.
THE GAP
Within this gap is time and space and it’s often all a person has to do is to shift within this gap and new awareness, and ultimately new opportunities will arise. Let me ask you this to illustrate this point:. If you are currently working in a job that you aren’t absolutely in love with, lets say working 9 to 5 for someone else, this question is for you. Why are you not working for yourself? Why are you not even the boss or the CEO? Now you are going to come up with a lot of excuses and some very valid reasons, but here is what it comes down to. You don’t believe you could be, you don’t think you want to, you don’t think you have what it takes. Some of you believe you will at some point but not now, some of you don’t really ever believe you will. Now I am not saying it would be in your best interest right at this moment to quit your job and start working for yourself. Again, there may be things that have to happen with in you, some skills that you need to acquire and information you still need. Perhaps you just don’t have the right personality characterizes or this notion doesn’t appeal to you at all. But the mistake many people make is to think, “All I need to know is the right product or service to focus on and then I would leave this job in a heart beat or I would start my own business”. Well here is the thing, you won’t find that product or service until you make a shift. Ironically, some of you have the right product right now, the right service and the right answer right in front of your nose but you can’t see it because you need to shift your thinking. But there are some shifts of perspectives, some emotions, some programming, some relationships, that need to change so you can see what is right in front of you.
A year ago I was going nuts because I was too busy, clients were falling through the cracks, I was disorganized, trying to do way too much by myself. I struggled for months trying to figure out what to do. People kept telling me I needed an assistant, but I was fearful about being responsible for someone else and thinking how could I train someone? Where would I find them?. Ironically, I had been recommending one of my former students to other people looking for assistants for 6 months. Finally I released some fears that were blocking me from giving myself permission to receive the help I so badly needed. I got up the nerve to ask this student if she’d like to be my assistant. She immediately said “yes”. Today she is not just my assistant, she is my living, breathing spirit guide! And she was right there the whole time.
Fortunately, it is information about the inner changes we need to make that comes up the most, and that comes in the clearest and the loudest during a clairvoyant reading. It is this information that does the most to move you forward in life. Sometimes very detailed and specific instructions come in as to what to pursue. Sometimes the guidance is that it really doesn’t matter what profession you pursue, or where you work. Instead the focus is on how honestly you are living your life. This can be frustrating to someone who comes to the reading convinced that there is one particular job they are “meant” to do.
I can assure you, I have never heard the voice of God state, “You must become a street sweeper, doctor or elementary school teacher or you will go to hell” or “you must leave your job or you will forever be a loser”. But what I have heard are strong messages coming from a client’s deepest self that said, “If I have to spend one more day at this miserable job I think I will go nuts”. I have heard more then one ethereal voice say, “You are hanging in there due to fear, not because you are getting anything else out of this place”. On rare occasions a voice may say, “This is something you were born to do this, it’s in your blood”, but when this happens it’s not a mysterious thing the person has never experienced, it’s something the person is so excited about and so interested in that they can barely sleep. When I get this about a person, it’s been shown to me that the “impulse” is there and this impulse is registered as a strong enthusiasm that is hard to ignore, although many will try.
SOUL IMPUSLES
We all have these impulses, I call them soul impulses rather then soul purpose. Again purpose is an intellectual, analytic limiting concept, where as an impulse is a burst of energy that comes from some where within, I believe the heart center, pushing some one toward a direction regardless of how much their heels are trying to screech to a halt or how much their minds or the minds of others are screaming out “no no no, this isn’t practical, this isn’t in the plan, this isn’t going to go over well with my grandmother!”.
It’s these impulses that are often the first things that are registered by a clairvoyant. I believe these are coming from a person’s soul, not from a mysterious voice outside that dictates this is what they must do. (although they will have plenty of spiritual guides who are trying to help them to be clear enough and brave enough to follow the impulse). During a clairvoyant reading we can clear out all the junk that is making it hard to experience the impulse and move forward.
Again, I believe, these impulses come in from the location of the heart center. They work through emotions and eventually register in the head, where they then fight for their life as they have so many other thoughts and fears to battle. These soul impulses have to also do battle with the impulses of the body, which for many people are to be protected, to feel safe, to be fed, and to rest.
These impulses are related to the spirit’s need to express itself on a creative level. By creative I don’t mean doing artistic things although that may very well be part of it, but to build, design, and bring into existence new structures; new life. The soul is attempting to experience itself in new forms. One energetic impulse births a new impulse and then yet another one and as these are being sent through the body of each person that body must allow this energy expression through a balance of action and communication. The person must allow it to not just move through him or her self, but to allow it to continue moving forward, working through more people, more forms, so the impulse is not just contained to one else but continues onward, possibly forever. This is why so many of us have the “impulse” to teach, to pass on knowledge, to speak to others, to share oneself and ones creations and even to procreate. It’s when a person blocks this movement in themselves or others, through mostly fear, then darkness, pain, distress and suffering set in. I believe what we call “evil” is that which stifles the life impulse in others.
SOUL SURFING
What soul impulses are pulsating through your being right now? Will you give them free expression or will you stifle them? The nice thing about these is they don’t require you to figure anything out, or even to plan. They require no resolutions (good news to those of you who haven’t made yours yet). They are like waves that will carry you to the right shore if you are patient enough for them to arrive, if you know how to recognize them, and fearless enough to ride them all the way without questioning whether they are safe or yours to ride.
Soul Surfing: I have a feeling that’s going to be quite a popular sport in 2010. Will you be joining me?
